Sorbsan Packing

Sorbsan Packing is suitable for the management of larger cavity wounds with moderate to high level of exudate. Sorban's Calcium Alginate fibres absorb exudate forming a gel which completely sutrrounds the wound cavity. The gel is easily washed away with normal saline for atraumatic dressing removal. Also available with the addition of Silver to control and prevent infection.

Indications

Sorbsan Packing is used for exudate management and wound healing of large open or cavity wounds. May be used to help manage wounds with minor bleeding or where blood is present in the exudate.

Precautions

Sorbsan Packing should not use on individuals with a known sensitivity to any components of the dressing. Should not be used where the opening of the wound or sinus is smaller than the width of the probe provided.
