Dressings-Film-VellaFilm

Film Dressings are transparent and generally made from a thin polymer membrane coated with an adhesive on one side. They are impermeable to fluids and bacteria but allow the wound to 'breathe' as they are permeable to water vapour and air. The dressings are designed to protect the wound from damage and act as a barrier against infection. Being transparent, allows clinicians to observe the wound without removing the dressing.Film dressings are suitable for use on wounds with little or no exudate, minor burns, cuts and grazes.
Not suitable for use on moderate or heavily exuding wounds.

Vellafilm® is a highly-effective transparent polyurethane film dressing. This dressing has Silfix soft silicone adhesion that perfectly surrounds the dry skin and not to the moist wound, which helps to reduce the pain and suffering often associated with dressing change. This semi-permeable adherent silicone film dressing enables you to conveniently see-through and observe the wound site. Based on the wound condition, it can stay in place for up to seven consecutive days and does not require frequent dressing change. This transparent dressing is ideal for surgical wounds and superficial epithelialising wounds. For patients with fragile and delicate skin, Vellafilm can be an ideal choice. This dressing is available in three sizes; 12cm x 12cm, 15cm x 20cm and 12cm x 35cm in a pack size of 10.
